Goosewing Ranch

Goosewing Ranch is a historic guest ranch on the edge of Grand Teton National Park, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. At an elevation of 7,400 feet, they provide an experience many others only wish they could offer – and that includes Conestoga® covered wagon glamping, too!

Goosewing Ranch is a historic working ranch that was re-imagined as a guest ranch. Goosewing’s unique location allows for multi-day pack-trips into the Gros Ventre Wilderness, flyfishing, lots of wildlife, and so much more. It also provides easy access to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, as well as rafting on the Snake River.

In fact, it would probably take a full week to sample even half of the experiences offered at their Wyoming guest ranch. First, you’ll want to choose your accommodations at the ranch. Goosewing Ranch offers a variety of lodging options including 2-bedroom family cabins and smaller, private cabins.

As you can probably guess, however, we have our eyes on one of their 4 Conestoga glamping wagons

Glamping at Goosewing Ranch

Goosewing Ranch

Goosewing Ranch added Goosewing Rendezvous to the ranch as a separate glamping camp in 2017.

Goosewing Rendezvous is four miles northeast of Goosewing Ranch and located at a greater elevation of 8,400 feet. The remote locale provides numerous opportunities for horseback riding, wildlife spotting, hiking, and fishing. Learn survival skills, Dutch oven cooking, how to care for a horse, and soak up the Gros Ventre beauty.

There’s no cell coverage at Goosewing Rendezvous, and extremely limited internet. Don’t worry, though. You’ll have a dedicated chef, a wrangler/guide, and an event coordinator at your service to make up for it.

And how about those accommodations?

Goosewing Rendezvous Conestoga® Wagon Glamping

Lodging at Goosewing Rendezvous consists of four of our Conestoga® pioneer wagons, able to sleep up to 17 guests.

Three of the wagons contain a king bed and three twins set up as bunks to sleep five. The fourth wagon offers a king bed and a seating area to accommodate one couple. Each wagon also has its own, detached bath cabin with a shower, toilet, sink and vanity.

The wagons are equipped with propane lights, lanterns, battery-operated lamps, and solar-powered outlets and USB ports. Heat for the wagons and bath cabins is provided by propane heaters.

This video from the Goosewing Rendezvous site gives an idea of the spaciousness inside a Conestoga® Covered Wagon:

A Cabin … Or A Wagon?

You may be wondering what accommodations provide the better experience: a cabin or a wagon? This comment from an August 2018 Goosewing Ranch guest may provide some clarity:

Our family of four spent two nights in a Conestoga® covered wagon and three nights in a cabin at Goosewing. The covered wagon, in particular, was awesome.

As you can see, Conestoga Wagon Co.® brand handcrafted wagons provide all the best aspects of “roughing it,” along with the expected comfort and convenience of glamping. Take a closer look.
