Capitol Reef Resort, in Torrey, Utah, offers one-of-a-kind experience experiences just outside Capitol Reef National Park – including Conestoga® wagon glamping!
Capitol Reef National Park, located in south-central Utah, is one of the country’s newest and most popular national parks. It is smack dab in the heart of red rock country and filled with incredible cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges.
The park’s towering red cliffs provide a breathtaking backdrop for Capitol Reef Resort, which is only 5 miles south, on highway 12, with amenities as spectacular as the views!
Capitol Reef Resort
Some “resorts” leave you questioning if they truly understand the meaning of the word. Not Capitol Reef Resort!
Beyond the stunning National Park in their back yard, Capitol Reef offers multiple outdoor activities. Horseback trail riding, llama day hikes, four-wheeling Jeep safaris, world-class fly-fishing, and more.
Capitol Reef Resort also offers an on-site restaurant, hot tub, swimming pool, and a wide range of accommodations. Options range from comfortable hotel guest rooms, vaulted ceiling cabins, luxury teepees, or a Conestoga covered wagon.
It’s all down to personal taste, of course but the glamping options seem the most tempting and appropriate, given the natural surroundings.
Luxury Conestoga® Wagon Glamping
Conestoga® covered wagons are real, handcrafted, wooden wagons based on authentic, 19th century designs. Don’t be fooled, however. What looks like living arrangements straight out of the wild west are, in fact, luxury accommodations with plenty of modern amenities.
These covered Conestoga® glamping wagons are insulated and water-resistant, with power, lights, flat screen TVs, and air conditioning. Each wagon sleeps up to 6, with a double pillow top king bed and two sets of twin bunk beds. Private, key-card accessed bathrooms are just a few steps away and you’ll also enjoy the fire pit right outside your wagon.
Best of all, you’ll have expansive, Red Cliff views during the day and absolutely jaw-dropping starscapes at night. The Capitol Reef area is home to some of the clearest, star-filled night skies in the country, with little light pollution. In fact, the International Dark-Sky Association recognized Capitol Reef National Park as a Gold-tier International Dark Sky Park in 2015.
